Surface Preparation

Entraco has a wide range of the latest state-of-art surface preparation equipment, encompassing UHP water jetting (hydro-blasting), abrasive (dry) blasting and mechanical (power tools) methods. Our equipment resources enable us to undertake projects of all sizes and provide the most effective solution to meet our customer requirements.

Water Jetting

UHP Water Jetting is extremely versatile and both an effective and environmentally friendly way of preparing a surface for coatings application. Operating at up to 40,610 psi (2,800 bar), the use of UHP water jetting technology enables us to remove coatings, rust scales and soluble salts, restoring the substrate back to its original profile. Comparing with other surface preparation methods, water jetting with the used of fresh water ensuring the surface is completely free of foreign contaminant. Another advantage of UHP water jetting against abrasive blasting is the effect on the environment.

UHP water jetting without the use of abrasives, minimizing the waste disposal and by introducing containment and recycling the washed water can be effectively reused. Furthermore UHP water jet technology can be used in hazardous and extreme environments such as tanks internal and in oil refineries as it does not generate “spark” during blasting operation.

At Entraco, we own an extensive inventory of special equipment and accessories such as DockMaster™, DockBoy™ Deck-blasters, which allows us to effectively and efficiently remove coatings and rust scales. In short, UHP Water jetting provides the cost effective solution for surface preparation in every industry sector.

Abrasive Blasting

Abrasive Blasting involves the use of compressed air and an abrasive medium and can be used for surface preparation, to remove existing coatings, rust scales, and etc, on all types of surfaces including steel. Abrasive blasting is traditionally recognized as one of the fastest and most effective form of surface preparation, establishing a good sound-working surface to promote the adhesion of most type of modern coating. Entraco own and operate a large inventory of equipment ranging from blast pots to specialist portable sponge jet systems providing controlled surface preparation to internationally recognized standards.  The most commonly referred to are Swedish Standards (Sa), Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC), and National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE).We also offer wet abrasive blasting using an abrasive media incorporate with HP water blast (≥15,000 psi) utilizing special tool and lance.

Power Tool Cleaning

Power tool cleaning involving the use of compressed air operated air-powered tools such as needle guns, power brush and disc-sanders. All air-powered tools own and used by Entraco are in compliance with “safe operating procedures” in accordance to the Singapore Ministry Of Manpower regulations.

  1. For preparing small areas.
  2. Enhanced control for sensitive areas.
  3. Acceptable alternative where it is inaccessible to UHP water jet or abrasive blast operation.

Typically power tool cleaning surface preparation is used to prepare small areas for inspection and or minor repairs or where it is not reachable to either UHP water jetting or abrasive blasting.
